Green Scouts empowers young people to reclaim green space, restore native ecosystems, and confront environmental injustice in their own communities. By combining civic engagement, hands-on sustainability, and local storytelling, we turn climate awareness into grassroots action one block, school, and neighborhood at a time.
Andie Park | Founder
Andie founded Green Scouts with a simple but urgent question: What does environmentalism look like where we live? Tired of climate conversations that felt abstract and disconnected from everyday realities, he launched the organization to help young people take action in their own communities — especially in places where greenery is often treated like a luxury.
Drawing from his experience in youth organizing, sustainability research, and community advocacy, Andie built Green Scouts as a space where students could lead the way. His vision is rooted in reclaiming green space, restoring native ecosystems, and confronting environmental injustice through hyperlocal, hands-on projects.
Our Projects
Columbia Climate Week
We introduced our first Green Scouts concepts during Climate Week NYC at Columbia University and Clim-Eat’s Forward Food & Fashion event, where we began shaping our vision for youth-led, hyperlocal sustainability projects.
Collaborating with Chapter Leaders
By working directly with community members and chapter leaders, we’ve transformed early ideas into real projects — from native plant gardens to educational campaigns — led by students in their own neighborhoods.
Hydroponics Initiative at BCA
In our school community, we’re building an improved, automated hydroponics system to make year-round growing more accessible. With funding pending from the district and administration, this project will serve as a model for future chapters.
